When you tap an NFC tag powered by on-tap.ca, our server automatically receives and logs the following information:
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, precise GPS location, or any other personally identifiable information through the tap event itself.
We use tap data to help businesses understand how clients engage with their physical touchpoints — for example, which times of day generate the most engagement, what device types are most common, and whether the same device returns over time.
This helps business owners make better decisions about placement, timing, and client experience. It also allows us to build anonymized industry benchmarks that benefit all businesses on our platform.
We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising. We do not share individual tap records with anyone outside on-tap.ca except the business whose tag you tapped, and only in aggregate form.
Individual tap event records are retained for 24 months from the date of the tap, after which they are automatically deleted.
Anonymized aggregate benchmark data (which contains no individual device information) may be retained indefinitely for research purposes.

The on-tap.ca redirect and splash pages do not use cookies or third-party tracking scripts. The only data collected is the tap event described in Section 2 above.
Our platform is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has tapped an NFC tag and you have concerns, please contact us at privacy@on-tap.ca
We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page will reflect the most recent revision. Continued use of on-tap.ca powered NFC tags after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
